Welcome to Tobermory Scout Hall website

Girl Guiding UK and Scouting UK have a long history of collaborating & working together. Being from a small community, the integration between youth’s is very prevalent. Sharing the same objectives and having the best interest of children as a common thread has influenced and encouraged us to unite and join forces to develop and progress in this exciting project.

The 1st Tobermory Guides, Brownies and Rainbows and the 15th Argyll (1st Muileach) Scout Group have, and continue to work together, to encourage the progression of the local youth on Mull, both boys and girls aged from 5 to 15 Years old.

Girl Guiding and Scouting Mull enables our youth to develop their potential as young people emotionally, intellectually, physically and spiritually, so that they can make a positive contribution to their community and the wider world as responsible citizens.

We achieve these objectives through the provision of an exciting, adventurous and active programme and training, guided by local volunteer leaders.

The users of this hall are mainly the scouting and guiding units comprised of Brownies, Rainbows, Guides, Beavers, Cubs and Scouts.

The other users of this hall are the Boxercise class, Metafit class, circuit for training group, Zumba, ballet, floor Barre classes, and Yoga.  The periodic users are the Theatre, Senior Citizens group from our neighbouring Kirk Care and private use for children's parties, weddings, Bingo and whist evenings, and various fundraising events for the hall.

Tobermory and surrounding areas are the main users of the hall, but it is hoped in the future that the hall can be used by visiting Scouting, Guiding and youth groups.  This would require an upgrade of facilities or, a new hall.

The last few years have seen a resurgence of interest in the Scout/Guide groups and the number now attending on a regular basis is greater than it has ever been.  In this small rural community, we have a brilliant number of children to support these groups and an even more enthusiastic group of Leaders to deliver the various Scout and Guide programmes.

This website is designed to demonstrate the enthusiasm of the groups concerned and to show how we have all been working towards finding funds for a re build.
